Wines have
been produced in the Costiѐres de Nîmes region since the 5th century
BC starting with the Greeks, making it one of the oldest vineyard regions in France. Cyril
Marѐs is the 6th generation winemaker in his family; Mas des Bressades
was founded by his father Roger in 1964 and now consists of 22 hectares of vineyards.
The domaine is located on the western side of the Rhône and renowned as one of
the top estates in Costiѐres de Nîmes.
Dark garnet in colour,
aromas of raspberry, fresh bread and a gamey earthiness rose from the glass. Aged
in concrete tanks to preserve the fruit purity, raspberry and blackberry
flavours were supported by earthy minerals and traces of lavender in the medium
body. Pink peppercorn and traces of bitter dark chocolate comprised the velvety
finish. Well structured and elegant, each silky smooth sip ensures a swiftly depleted
glass.50% Grenache, 50% Syrah
